Welcome to Execution at Scale - a site that collects detailed engineering leadership playbooks. Right now it just contains material from my personal playbook for driving execution at scale and as a companion to my SFELC talk.

About me

I’m Scott Shumaker, currently CTO of Yammer @ Microsoft. I’ve spent hte last 20 years building consumer tech products at scale, in a variety of hands-on, founder, and engineering leadership roles.

Prior to Yammer, I was the first VP of Engineering at Credit Karma, where I helped lead the company through hypergrowth and scale from 100 to 500+ engineers in just over 3 years. It was a crazy time!

Previously, I’ve held a variety of leadership roles including: tech lead and manager of multiple teams at Google (G+ iOS, Hangouts iOS, Google Photos mobile, YouTube Gaming and more), serial startup cofounder, and AAA game development lead in the PS2/PS3 console era.
